Wish List/Items for Classroom
Items we could use in the classroom. Check this list periodically to see if there is anything you can provide for the classroom:
Trains for wooden train set (I have plenty of tracks, but could use more trains, especially engines) Target sells Thomas style trains--make sure they're the wood kind and not the die cast.
We need hand sanitizer for the hand washing station.
If anyone is handy with a sewing machine and would like to make covers for our resting pillows they need a little sprucing up for both aesthetic and sanitary reasons.
Beads, large plastic or wooden beads.
Marbles (small glass)

UPCOMING EVENTS
DPS Early Release Days
Hopefully you are already aware that DPS has included several early release days on its calendar this year. The purpose of these days is to provide the teachers with additional professional development (in this case district directed professional development). Two of these early release days coincide with ECE no contact day (December 9th & February 11th). On those two days there will be no school for ECE. The remainder of the DPS early release days are decrease the school day by an hour more than Bill Roberts regular early release Fridays and therefore create special circumstances for our 1/2 day ECE classes.
We have tried to devise a plan that works out in everyone's best interest. Please read this policy carefully and ask me if you have any questions (it's confusing):
January 19th: This day we will have PM class only from 8:15-10:45 (no AM class). Additionally, because we have this early release day on Tuesday, there will be no early release on Friday that week.
March 26th: This day we will have AM class only at it's regular time (no PM class).
April 19th: This day we will have PM class only from 8:15-10:45 (no AM class). Additionally, because we have this early release day on Monday, there will be no early release on Friday that week.

Show & Tell
Dear Parents,
I’m very excited to announce that we will start show and tell this week (on Friday). In an attempt to make show and tell more meaningful, I am breaking the classes into show & Tell groups. The groups will rotate each week and the remainder of the children will have an assignment of bringing an item (magazine picture, or a small object that can be used to decorate a collage of the letter of the week). The children who have show and tell should also bring an item for our letter collage--The letter collage is about 12" tall and so the pictures and items should not be much more than 1-3 inches. 3-D items look great on the collage, so if you can think of little things to bring that we can glue on it's much appreciated.
The children’s show and tell items should be items that begin with the letter of the week. We will begin this week with the letter A and move through the alphabet in order. Please make sure your child knows can give some description of their show & tell item and know why it begins with the letter of the week (“my dog’s name is Adam, Adam starts with A” is acceptable). I will send home a reminder each week to ensure that you know if it is your child’s week for show and tell and what letter.
The show and tell groups are as follows:
Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4
Maisie Trevor Noah Brooke
Ella Will Peter Tessa
Gage Eveylyn Graham Lillian
Grant Phoebe Aynslee Avery
Miles Dayton Hayden Sadie
Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4
Piper Scott Reagan Lucas
Ben Emma Josh Aiden
Drew Katie Jack Sam
Asher Marin Greycen Grant
Andrew Sosha Isabela Camdyn
